Early Wrestling Career Of James Fullington
The Sandman is widely known for his famous tenure in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He had his first shot at wrestling at Tri-State Wrestling Alliance. He joined the ECW in 1992, and became one of the most noted stars there. His persona in ECW was that of an anti-social bar room brawler. He smoke cigarettes, drank beer, and swung Singapore canes at the opponents. Since his original persona matched his on stage persona, he did a fairly good job of entertaining the fans. Sandman spent his childhood doing petty jobs and had been in and out of the prison for bar room brawls and other problems. It has been stated that he even suffered a solitary confinement punishment during his adolescence. Ever since his entry in ECW, he started enjoying his matches and quickly became one of the top draws of the brand. He used to smoke cigarettes and drink beer on his way to the ring while fans cheered for him. He also used to smash the beer can right in his head multiple times, making him bleed sometimes. He seemed to enjoy all these antics very much that he became a household name in the ECW locker room.
