Early Wrestling Career Of Rob Van Dam
Rob Van Dam is also known as RVD. He has a martial arts background which makes him one of the most gifted wrestlers of all time. He is so popular with the fans that he enjoys a huge fan following all over the world, no matter where he goes. He was trained by “The Sheik” and has been the most famous protégé of him ever. RVD started off his professional wrestling career with a number of matches in the independent circuit in America and in Japan. He then joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and started wrestling there. However, his stint in WCW was a very short one and no one remembered it.
ECW Career Of Rob Van Dam
In 1996, he signed a contract with ECW which was then a popular brand. It was the turning point in his career and he has never looked back since then. His stint in ECW became very popular. He started a feud with fellow ECW wrestler Sabu and this became one of the most memorable feuds in the history of ECW. Sabu and RVD were equally relentless and used to have the toughest of the matches during that time. Then sometime later, they went on to become the tag team champions. During this period, Rob Van Dam became extremely popular with the fans. His fighting style was something unique as he used to use his feet a lot and used to take high-flying risks which no one ever dared to. Due to these reasons, he was considered a thriving potential and fans immediately caught up with him. He went on to win championship after championship and unified a lot of championships, making him one of the most successful champions of all time in the history of wrestling.
When ECW went bankrupt, Rob Van Dam joined WWF and became a favorite there as well. He went on to have a series of memorable matches with Jeff Hardy, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many others. During his successful stint, WWF was divided into two brands namely RAW and SmackDown. Rob Van Dam was picked in RAW and spent some time there. Then he was drafted to SmackDown, and then he was again drafted to RAW. Currently, he wrestles for the revamped ECW brand in WWE.
