Throughout her career spanning 8 years and going on, Mickey James has portrayed many different characters and attitudes. She has had many different looks, roles and numerous unique Mickie James entrances. This is one career that shows no sign of minding a stop sign. There’s more where this came from.
Mickey James Early Carreer
Mickie James like many other female wrestling stars started off on the career as a ring valet. After her 1999 debut, she progressed into managing for wrestling stars including the likes of Tommy Dreamer and Steve Corino. Avoid as she might, she always found herself in some feud involving the wrestlers and their managers. Finally giving managing a rest, she entered the ring as a wrestler herself. Mickey was perhaps one of the most prolific female wrestlers in the WWE circuit. She invariably got involved in often long running feuds and was a very active wrestler participating in more number of matches than any other female wrestler in her time.
Mickey James’s Career Outside WWE
Besides WWE, she had also active participation in the Professional Girl Wrestling Association (POWA) and Beautiful Babes of Wrestling (BBOW) among others. In TNA, she displayed her immutable style of Mickie James wrestling, where long running feuds and loyalties decided the game for Mickie. After an eventful career in TNA, she changed sides to Ohio Valley wrestling. This would be a major turning point in the career of Mickie. She trained during this period to improve her skills and also appeared in a few TV commercials to promote OVW. She also found some action on the side by appearing for TV in Memphis Wrestling.
The WWE Phase Of Mickey James’s Career
She turned towards WWE during the middle of 2005. This phase of her career clearly defined her character as she came out of the shadows of her “Alexis Laree” screen name and reinvented herself with a new Mickie James theme. During her time in WWE, she made a lot of fuss about her adoration of Trish, had a shrine built in her respect and even came dressed as Trish for Halloween with a blonde wig and swapping Mickie James theme music for Trish’s theme music for her entrance.
Though she adored Trish, she publicly admitted that her aim was to destroy Trish and get her title. Eventually Trish did defeat Mickie, but at the end of the match they hugged each other and parted decently. Since Trish was retiring soon, another championship was conducted to decide who would inherit the title. Mickie defeated everybody in the fray except for Lita, to whom she lost at Cyber Sunday.
